The call begets the answer.

At fifty years old, standing at the threshold of a new chapter, there is a sense of arrival,

a feeling that every step, every hardship, every moment of joy and sorrow has led precisely here.

It is not an accident of timing.

Not too soon.

Not too late.

There were many points when I doubted this time would ever come.

When it did, the cost was comfort.

The cost was safety.

The cost was letting go of the belief that familiarity was protection.

I woke on my fiftieth birthday in a bed I had returned to again and again.

A bed I knew.

A man I knew. I had accepted crumbs because they were familiar.

I mistook familiarity for safety.

I mistook adaptation for health, even after decades of healing work.

That morning, I let go of the fantasy that my healing would be enough to make something unworkable finally work.

I let go of the idea that endurance was love.

That was not the final test of the year.

The final test arrived quietly.

A man I had once idealised asked me on a date. He came with music, intensity, the suggestion of something rare. On paper, almost perfect.

But when it came time for the second date, my body said, firmly, no!

Not in fear,

in clarity.

I could feel my future close in rather than open out.

This time, I did not override her.

This time, I did not force myself forward.

I trust my body now. She knows before my mind does.

That was the moment the call stopped being an idea and became a line I would not cross again.

Yet there is a sobering truth to acknowledge: not everyone makes it.

Some arrive late.

Some never arrive at all.

The path is one of alignment and resonance, and it demands the resolution of what we carry.

Many are weighed down by unresolved lead.

Some never have the tools to transform it.

Some encounter them and use them as bargaining chips, never intending to change.

This is not a moral failing, it is a reality shaped by forces both internal and external.

There are two primary obstacles.

The first is the system itself.

Society is structured to keep us distracted, entertained, and avoidant.

Sovereign beings, those who are truly free, cannot be easily controlled. They are unpredictable. So, the system resists our awakening.

It teaches us to look away from pain, to medicate discomfort, to confuse numbing with peace.

The journey to sovereignty is not one that is supported.

It is one that must be claimed.

The second obstacle is conditioning.

We are trained to seek comfort, to avoid what is difficult, to choose familiarity over truth.

But those who make it are not those who suffer the most, they are those who turn toward what is difficult without bargaining.

Not out of masochism, but from a quiet knowing that the only way out is through.

The butterfly’s transformation is not gentle.

It is a violent and frightening passage.

But what emerges is not simply changed, it is transfigured.

Transformation heals the wound.

Transfiguration makes the wound a signal.

It is not just the integration of the shadow, but the moment the shadow becomes the lighthouse.

It is not recovery from ruin, but the recognition that ruin was the foundation all along.

Transfiguration is not about fixing the self.

It is about ceasing to maintain the illusion of who we are not.

We are not becoming someone new. We are relinquishing what was never true.

There is a great lie embedded in the system...the lie that we never arrive,

that life is only ever a journey, never a destination.

This is a half-truth, one that keeps us striving, improving, always becoming and never being.

But arrival is not perfection.

It is not resolution.

It is not safety.

Arrival is the moment you stop bargaining with yourself.

I did not find the answer by searching for it.

I answered the call by refusing to abandon myself again

and in so doing, I realised...

the caller was never outside of me.

and neither was the answer.
